A bright future for Woldingham students

A bright future for Woldingham students

13 August 2020

In an extraordinary year, and following the national cancellation of A Level exams, Woldingham students have shown great resilience and commitment and should be very proud of all they have achieved throughout their time at school.

Woldingham’s outgoing Head Girl Sarah is to read theology at St John’s College Cambridge after receiving four A* at A Level. She will be joined at Cambridge University by Tracy who will be reading economics at Gonville and Caius College. Tracy received a full set of A* in her four A Levels with two other Woldingham students, Carol and Mariia, also receiving four A* grades.

Woldingham Sports Scholar and GB representative athlete Charlotte used her outstanding grades to secure a place at Birmingham University to read biomedical science, alongside being selected to take part in the England Athletics Youth Talent Programme.

Woldingham students are set to take up places at a wide range of prestigious universities including Durham, Imperial, UCL, St Andrews and Edinburgh to study an extremely broad range of subjects including global sustainable development, product design and technology and language, culture and society.

Headmistress Mrs Alex Hutchinson commented:

‘I am exceptionally proud of our Upper Sixth students who faced so many challenges this year with courage and fortitude. As they leave to take up places at prestigious universities I have no doubt the experiences and opportunities at Woldingham will guide them well as they start the next exciting chapter of their lives. Our vision is to provide an outstanding education that empowers women to change the world and these students exemplify Woldingham. They are hard working, high achieving and inspirational. I am confident that all our Sixth Formers who leave Woldingham this summer will make a hugely positive impact in their lives ahead.’

Outgoing Head Girl Sarah added:

‘Amidst these uncertain times, I am extremely blessed to have secured the grades I needed to study theology at Cambridge in the autumn. It’s the subject I love and a new chapter awaits. The friends I’ve made at Woldingham are my sisters, and I have faith that no matter what this results day holds we will all go on to do great and amazing things, making a real difference in the world.’
