Exam Success Story at St Francis’ College

Exam Success Story at St Francis’ College

21 August 2021

In general, before my exams, I felt very prepared. I felt very lucky as our remote teaching during the lockdowns was really good and, if anything, it was easier to revise for tests at home. As there was not a single case in my year group during the whole of last year, lessons were able to continue as normal. Before our exam week, I felt quite nervous but our teachers had prepared us well for it by giving us lots of revision lessons and help clinics. The exams themselves were quite stressful, but assessments always are.

I was both excited and nervous to get my results as I really wanted results that I would be happy with. There were a couple of subjects in particular that I was most nervous for, either because I was looking to do them for A level or they were the subjects that I felt I had done least well in. Having opened the envelope, I was overjoyed with my results, as they were the best I could have hoped for.

For Sixth Form, I am going to Chetham’s School of Music, in Manchester, to study English Literature, Music and French. My aim is to become a professional violinist, and I hope that the musically centred education there will enable me to realise that. However, I could not have reached this point without the support and encouragement of the St. Francis Music department and all my subject teachers.
