Excellent GCSE Results at Manor House School

12 August 2021

After a year of unprecedented challenge, the hard work and resilience of girls in Year 11 at Manor House School, Bookham, a leading independent day school for girls in Surrey, was justly rewarded with an excellent set of GCSE results.

Continuing a trend of high achievement, almost a half of all grades were 9-8 and over 200 9-7 grades were awarded, two-thirds of all results.

All grades in Biology, Physics and Chemistry were 9-7 and a number of girls achieved the top two grades in Further Mathematics alongside success at GCSE Mathematics.

Three individual pupils succeeded in gaining 9 or more GCSEs at grade 9 which is a fantastic achievement.

Every single pupil achieved at least a pass grade in English, Maths and Science with, on average, 9 GCSEs being taken by girls across the year group. Regardless of starting points, all the girls showed they could meet or exceed their aspirational target grades through their fortitude at the end of this extraordinary time.

Huge congratulations to the Year 11 2021 cohort who will now leave Manor House School for their chosen sixth form destinations.

Ms Tracey Fantham, Headteacher, commented: “I am extremely proud of all the students in Year 11 at Manor House School for their resilience and continued hard work during such challenging and difficult times and I wish them all every success in their chosen future sixth form destinations. I look forward to them returning to Manor House School in the years to come as members of our alumnae, so that we can hear about their future achievements and share in their continued success.”
