Donna Stevens, GSA CEO celebrates A Level results today:
“Girls’ Schools Association gives well-deserved congratulations to students today; we recognise that this cohort has been particularly brave and tenacious with the full return to examinations and it’s clear that their determination and application has paid-off, with 79% of pupils securing their first choice of university. We’re particularly thrilled to see girls having their best year yet at A* grade with 8.5% of girls achieving this top level (compared to around 7.7% in the past 5 years when exams took place).
I’m particularly heartened to see girls championing their own futures. By young women making their own ambition a priority they raise opportunity for every girl in the world, acting as positive agents of change, and as role models. I’d like to personally thank our own Heads and schools for continuing to place girls at the centre of everything they do, and to wish every young woman the very best in the next steps in her life’s adventures. This is just the start of what will, I’ve no doubt, be the next exciting chapter.”
