St. Francis’ College Announces New Access Awards in 90th Anniversary Year

St. Francis’ College in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, is announcing the launch of four Access Awards as part of the College’s ninetieth anniversary year celebrations. This new initiative is the College’s first scheme offering up to 100% tuition and boarding scholarships for exceptionally academically or creatively able students who wish to be full time boarders at the College.

The Access Awards, which will be an automated discount of 60%, plus a means tested further discount of up to 40%, will be offered to bright and ambitious pupils from across the UK who wish to join the College as full-time boarders in Years 7 or 8 from September 2024 until the end of their education in Year 13. Applications are invited from girls who demonstrate outstanding academic, creative and / or sporting talents and who will benefit from these talents being nurtured. Current students, as well new applicants, who will enrol as full boarders in Years 7 or 8 in September 2024, are more than welcome to apply.

James Nichols, Head of the College, said: “St. Francis’ College is proud to have been providing an exceptional education to pupils since 1923. As part of our ninetieth anniversary celebrations, we want to expand our contribution to society by offering the opportunity to access an education at the College irrespective of where students are currently based. These Access Awards can make important differences to young people by providing gifted children with opportunities to excel in our outstanding school and thrive in our boarding environment. These students will join our already excellent student body and offer new and lifelong friendship opportunities”.

Pupils at St. Francis’ achieve outstanding results, and many of our alumni have gone on to make hugely important contributions in areas including science, medicine, the creative arts, and entrepreneurship. Our intention is that the recipients of these Access Awards will go on to join the leaders of tomorrow, further enabling St. Francis’ alumni to contribute to an ever-changing and exciting world.
