St Mary’s School, Ascot

St Mary’s School Ascot is a leading Roman Catholic boarding school for girls aged between 11 and 18 years.

It is a 45-minute journey from London, and set in 55 acres of beautiful grounds. We are a warm and caring community, and are passionate about bringing out the full potential of each of our 390 pupils. As a full boarding school, with only a few places for day pupils who live nearby, we offer a wealth of co-curricular opportunities, meaning that life at St Mary’s is vibrant, exciting and always good fun.

Boarding life at St Mary’s is rich and fulfilling, with inspirational evening speakers, a wealth of clubs and societies, and an exciting range of weekend activities and trips. Senior girls play a key role in the life of the school, leading by example, running events for younger girls, and organising our many charitable and fund-raising activities. Our teaching, pastoral and residential staff work closely together to ensure that each girl leads a life that is healthy and balanced, with plenty of physical and intellectual challenge, spiritual enrichment, peace, friendship and joy.

We are proud of the strength of our academic achievements and work tirelessly to build on our tradition of excellence. It is a true measure of our success that we help girls of all abilities to realise their full potential, and to achieve places at a range of top universities in the UK and abroad. We are a relatively small school, so we know our girls well, and are able to create a nurturing environment that both supports and stimulates them, and where they learn how to excel. We are also big enough to be able to offer a full and ambitious academic curriculum, and outstanding facilities, from our 400-seat theatre auditorium and all-weather athletics track to our beautiful new Sixth Form boarding courtyard with its ensuite study bedrooms.

We are proud to sustain the tradition established by our foundress, Mary Ward, who valued freedom of spirit, sincerity and a cheerful disposition, and predicted rightly that ‘women in time will come to do much’.
