St George’s, Ascot continued to show its commitment to raising environmental awareness and increasing on-site sustainability and biodiversity when it took an exciting delivery of thirteen new specimen trees this week.

The school has chosen to put its beautiful, 33-acre green site to great environmental use with the development of its own SGA Arboretum. Headmistress, Liz Hewer, was joined at the ‘digging in’ both by the new Head Girls and Deputy Head Girls who, along with Head Gardener, Jo Tremlett.

St George’s, Ascot is delighted to be a part of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead initiative to promote principles of sustainability within schools. The borough is also the first UK council to endorse this November’s Youth Climate Summit.

Headmistress, Liz Hewer said “I am incredibly proud of the changes we have implemented at St George’s in recent years to promote a culture of sustainable development and environmental responsibility alongside developing a culture of conservation. I am proud to lead a school community where the pupils are committed to keeping this issue at the top of their agenda.”
