Sheffield Girls’ Infant and Junior School

Sheffield Girls’ private primary school provides a highly educational and challenging school curriculum and is amongst the best primary schools in Yorkshire.

School life at Sheffield Girls’ centres on a broad and creative curriculum that engages children with core subjects such as English, Mathematics and Science as well as providing the girls with the opportunity to further develop their creativity, inquisitiveness and physical ability through Sport, Music, Art, Drama, Technology and Modern Foreign Languages. All of our girls have a love of learning that is enhanced by enrichment beyond the curriculum, which includes speakers and visitors into school, trips to theatres and museums.

Our excellent pastoral care helps the girls to develop self-confidence, motivation and independent learning skills, while at the same time creating challenging opportunities for all our students. The wide range of extra-curricular activities available broadens the girls’ horizons and offers them opportunities to develop their skills to a high level.

Our school environment benefits from outdoor learning spaces as well as easy access to the wider facilities in the Senior School including outstanding sports facilities.

Our ethos is one which is based on mutual respect and one where every girl is valued for her individual talents and interests. We welcome girls from all backgrounds and from a wide geographical area which covers all of South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire. Our school thrives on the rich cultural and social mix of our girls who flourish in the friendly and nurturing environment we provide.

We are very proud of our national reputation for achieving excellent results academically, but also for our outstanding success in Sport, Music, Art and Drama and for our work within the local community. If you read our latest Independent School Inspectorate report, available on the ISI website, you will see that we are judged to be extremely successful in achieving our aims.

The best way to catch the spirit of Sheffield Girls’ is to come and visit, I am always happy to show parents around our school so they can experience first hand the warmth and enthusiasm of our pupils and teachers.
