Leicester High School for Girls is an independent school for girls aged 3–18, built around a simple ambition: every girl is known, valued and inspired to be her best.

We combine strong academic ambition with exceptional care, giving girls the confidence to challenge themselves, discover what they are capable of and develop their own sense of purpose. Our pupils achieve excellent results, but we believe that education should be about much more than examination grades. We want every girl to leave Leicester High with the knowledge, character and confidence to make the most of the opportunities ahead of her.

As a small school, relationships matter. Teachers know their pupils well, girls are encouraged to contribute and take responsibility, and every individual has the opportunity to be noticed, supported and celebrated. There is space here to be yourself, to try new things and to grow.

Scholarships and Bursaries
Leicester High School for Girls is committed to making an excellent education accessible to talented girls from a wide range of backgrounds.

Academic Scholarships
Academic Scholarships are available for entry to the Senior School and are awarded to pupils who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and strong potential. Scholarships are not means-tested and may be supplemented by means-tested bursary support for families who would otherwise be unable to consider an independent education.

Sixth Form Scholarships
We work closely with the Sir Thomas White Trust to support talented students joining our Sixth Form from state schools in Leicestershire and Rutland. These awards are means-tested and can provide significant support towards school fees for the two years of Sixth Form.

Applicants are considered on the basis of their academic record, personal statement, school references and interview.

Music Scholarships and Awards
Music Scholarships and Awards are available to promising and committed musicians. Awards provide support towards additional music tuition and are made following an audition, usually held during the Spring Term.

Bursaries
Means-tested bursaries are available from Year 6 onwards for families who would otherwise be unable to consider Leicester High School for their daughter.

Support can be substantial and, in some circumstances, may cover up to 100% of school fees. The level of assistance offered depends on individual financial circumstances and the funds available in any given year.
